MARION-James R. "Bob" Baker, 72, of Marion passed away at 7:30 AM, Friday, March 23, 2007 at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, March 26, 2007 at the Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Reverend Chris Cutsinger officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00 until 2:00 PM, Monday, March 26, 2007 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Cana Cemetery, Goreville. Military rites will be held by VFW Post 1301, American Legion Post 147 and the National Guard. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois; envelopes are available at the funeral home or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL 62959.

Mr. Baker was born June 28, 1934 in Goreville, Illinois to James Samuel and Ruby (Short) Baker. He married Ginger Haffner and she survives.

Other survivors include his children, Kenneth Robert and Dori Baker of Marion, Jeffrey Wayne and Deborah Lynne Baker of West Frankfort, Jim and Mary Baker of Crab Orchard, Gary and Beverly Baker of Crab Orchard, Cindy and Vern Brotherton of West Frankfort, Charles Scott Baker of Marion and Storm and Dennis Kellermeier of Johnston City; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; brothers and sister-in-law, Sam Baker of Creal Springs, Ron and Norma Baker of Marion and Jack Baker of Marion; and sisters, Agatha Dean Tanner of Stonefort, Clarice Killman of Marion, Opal Hill of Crab Orchard and Carolyn Sue Johnson of Marion.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Shawn Michael Baker; and an infant sister.

Mr. Baker worked as a drywall installer for 45 years. He served his country with the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the American Legion Post 147. He loved to camp and fish.
