William L. Altig, beloved father and grandfather, passed away February 25, 1999 at home. He was born May 31, 1932 in Garden County, Nebraska. Bill was a U.S. Air Force veteran. Retired from Ft. Lewis Maintenance Division. He owned and operated B & R Automotive for 15 years. He was recognized by Pierce County and the U.S. Department of Labor for his lifelong efforts in vocational training of disadvantaged youth. Bill will be greatly missed by all for his ever present helping hand and a loving heart. Bill enjoyed cars, swap meets, country music, grandkids, pets and vacationing in Reno. Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Rose. He is survived by his son Robert E. Altig and wife, Linda, Puyallup; daughters, Dendy Altig, Tacoma, Billie L. Lane and husband Ron, Puyallup, Marilyn L. Lichty and husband, Mike, Puyallup, and Becky Altig, Puyallup. Grandchildren, William G. Altig, Jonathan G. Altig, Shelby L. Lichty, Jennifer K. Lichty, Samual C. Lane, and Alision L. Lane.
