EDNA HELEN KOHLMEYER, 96, of Wabash, died Saturday, Aug. 8, 2009, 9:30 p.m., at her home. She was born Nov. 7, 1912, in Fort Recovery, Ohio, daughter of Al and Salome (Laux) Minch. Edna married Thomas Edward Kohlmeyer on Dec. 23, 1939, in Fort Wayne; he died Jan. 7, 1985. She was a homemaker, a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church and was a daily visitor to the Winchester Senior Center. She enjoyed sewing and quilting. She had lived in Wabash since 1992 coming from Fort Wayne, where she had lived 60 years. She is survived by her daughter, Ellen (Phillip) Amones of Wabash; two grandsons, Reid (Brandi) Amones of Valparaiso and Jon (Erin) Amones of New Palestine, Ind.; five great-grand-children, Julia Amones, Elizabeth Amones and Phillip Amones, all of Valparaiso and Reina Amones and Halle Amones, both of New Palestine. She was preceded in death by a brother; and two sisters. Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 188 W. Sinclair, Wabash. Father Sextus Don officiating. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, with Rosary service at 7 p.m. Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne.
