Mrs. Preathy L, (Daywalt) Carbaugh. 87, died at 2:30 p.m. Friday at the home of her son-in-law and daughter. Mr. and Mrs. George Codori, Smithsburg, (Md.) Route 2. She had been ill since 1951. In the spring of this year, she was confined to the Washington County Hospital, Hagerstown, and later to the Western Maryland State Hospital, Hagerstown. She was born at Luca, Ohio, May 15, 1873, a daughter of the late Gerald and Virginia Daywalt. In early life she resided in Virginia Mills. Following her marriage to James Carbaugh, she and Mr. Carbaugh moved to his home at Knoxlyn. Since 1908 she had resided on the Edgemont Road, Smithsburg, Route 2. Following the death of her husband in .June 1949, she made her home with her son, Keller Carbaugh, and since July of this year made her home with the Codori's. She was a member of the Blue Mountain Church of God and of the ladies Bible Class of that church. Surviving are two daughters and a son; Mrs. Codori, Keller Carbaugh both of Smithsburg, Route 2, and Mrs. Lawrence Neikirk, Hagerstown, Route 1, 11 grand children, seven great grandchildren and a brother Harvey Daywalt, Gettysburg. Funeral services are today at 2 p.m. at the Blue Mountain Church of God, in charge of the Rev. C. M. McGala. Burial in the Smithsburg Cemetery.
