Howard D. Abney, age 81, of Clinton, Missouri passed away at his home on Friday, August 7, 2009. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M., Monday, August 10, 2009 at Vansant-Mills Chapel, Clinton with burial in Englewood Cemetery, Clinton. Family will receive friends from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. Sunday and 9:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. Monday at the chapel. Family suggests contributions to the Christian Motorcycle Association or Twin Lake Hospice and may be left at the funeral home. Howard served in the Army Air Corp during W.W. II. He was a farmer and truck driver. He was a member of the Deepwater Church of the Brethren, the Christian Motorcycle Association, a volunteer for the Clinton Senior Center and a former member of the N. F. O.

Among survivors include his wife, Wilma of the home; one daughter, Susan D. Carter and husband, Duane of Clinton; three sons, Gary W. Abney and wife, Debbie of Huntsville, Alabama, Thomas K. Abney and wife, Brenda of Marlin, Texas and Marvin D. Abney and wife, Helen of Clinton; brother-in-law, Carl Hoover of Plesant Hill, Missouri as well as seven grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
