Sarah English Albrecht, of Charleston, went to be with her beloved Lord Jesus on August 3, 2009.

Born on July 25, 1930, in Charleston, her parents Angus Bethune and Luvah Belle Patterson, landowners in Barnwell, SC, provided a wonderful life for her.

In 1950 she married handsome Citadel cadet Walter Henry Albrecht after graduating from Charleston Nurses College. They were married 56 years before she was predeceased by Walt.

Sarah English's extravagant love of the Lord, her husband, family and friends defined her life on this earth. An amazing woman, loving wife, mother and grandmother, "darling mother-in-law", loyal friend, and creative artist with a huge heart. Full of life, she traveled the four corners of the earth with her husband and enjoyed every moment of it. Her children say, "Thank you, Mom, for being a wonderful mother and teacher to us all, showing us that the world is a fun and awesome place to be."

She is survived by three children, Lynn Courtney and husband John of Pinon Hills, CA, Heidi Gault and husband Gary and Kurt Albrecht and wife Jennifer of Charleston, SC, seven grandchildren: Brett, Amanda, Katrina, Gregory, Erick, Sarah Elizabeth and Carolina; six great-grandchildren: Brittany, Cody, and Corey, Elijah and Isabella, and Gregory Jr., and four great-great-grandchildren. To her friends both here and around the globe, she enjoyed and loved each of you dearly. As she would say, "Please stop by and visit when you're in the area."

Inurnment was in Arlington National Cemetery beside her late husband, Lt. Col. Walter Albrecht, USAF.
