Mrs. Clifford Ferris

Mrs. Luella Ferris, aged 68, of Westville, died Friday, August 25, at the Clark Nursing Home in Oneonta, following a long illness.
Mrs. Ferris was born January 4, 1899, at Lentsville, the daughter of Charles and Bertha Kilts. She was graduated from Milford High School and attended Albany Business College. She was married to Clifford Ferris on November 9, 1918, at Milford and had been a resident of Westville for the past 40 years.
She was a member of the Otsego County Extension Service, the Milford American Legion Auxiliary, a Sixth Degree member of the Grange, had been a member of the Westville Grange for 38 years and was serving as chaplain at the time of her death. She had been a member of the Westville Baptist Church for 38 years.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Robert Root of Cooperstown; a son, Leon Ferris of Orlando, Fla.; four grandchildren; a brother LeRoy Price of Durham, N.C., and a cousin, Elbert Elliot of San Miguel, Mex.
Graveside services were conducted at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, August 29, at Westville Cemetery with the Rev. Arthur Andrews, pastor of the Westville Methodist Church, officiating.
Arrangements were by Tillapaugh Funeral Service.
