Kathy Summa, age 62 of Bethel, died Monday, August 3, 2009 at Danbury Health Care Center, Danbury. She was the beloved wife of Leonard V. Summa. Mrs. Summa was born December 27, 1946 in New Rochelle, N.Y., the daughter of Dorothy (Duncan) Van Pelt of Bethel, and the late Gerard E. Van Pelt (Former Chief of the New Rochelle, N.Y. Fire Department). She was a graduate of St. Gabriel High School in New Rochelle, N.Y. and the St, Joseph Hospital School of Nursing in Yonkers, N.Y. Mrs. Summa was employed as a nurse at St. Joseph Hospital in Yonkers for 10 years, before moving to Connecticut. She then worked as a nurse at the former Mediplex of Danbury and later at Stop and Shop, retiring in 2001. In addition to her hus-band of 39 years and her mother, Mrs. Summa is survived by two sons, Douglas Summa of Monroe and his wife, Linda and Jeffrey Summa of Meriden and his wife, Kellie; and four grandchildren, Arianna, D'Ana, Rebecca and Douglas Jr. A Mass of Christian Bur-ial will be celebrated in St. Mary's Church, Bethel, Thursday morning at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Bethel. Family will receive friends in the Bethel Funeral Home 215 Greenwood Ave., Bethel, Wednesday from 5 until 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Danbury Health Care Center, 107 Osborne St., Danbury, CT 06810
