Funeral is 1 p.m. Monday at Family Mortuary Chapel with Pastor J. Gardner Jr. officiating. Visitation is 5-6 p.m. today at Family Mortuary Chapel. Burial is in Beatties Ford Memorial Gardens in Huntersville.
Mrs. Matthews was born in York County and was retired from Oxford Building Services. She was a member of Shiloh Institutional Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, James Matthews of Charlotte; sons, William H. Matthews of Matthews, Jerry Matthews of Matthews and Archie Matthews of Charlotte; daughter, Ms. Marjorie Matthews of Charlotte; sister, Mrs. Frances McClurkin of Washington, DC; two daughters-in-law, Mrs. Delores Matthews of Matthews and Mrs.Trina Matthews of Charlotte; and seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends.
