Paul, age 70, of Machesney Park, passed away at home surrounded by his family following a long illness. He was born the son of Raymond & Emma (Armstrong) Bergeron. Paul lived most of his live in the Belvidere and Poplar Grove areas before moving to Machesney Park. He married Nichole Schulz in Loves Park on May 16, 1998. He was a professional Truck Driver and Highway Maintainer for I.D.O.T. before retiring in 2001. Paul was a proud member of the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and the outdoors. He is survived by his wife, Nichole of Machesney Park, IL; six children: Deborah Boruschewitz of Las Vegas, NV, Brenda (David) Beach of Monroe Center, IL, Sandra (Doug) Pecor of Olympia, WA, Michael Bergeron of Janesville, WI, Paula (Jeff) Wallace of Pheonix, AZ, and Nicole (Scott) Tripp of Rockford, IL; 15 grandchildren: Kristina, Jeffery, Josh, Nicole, Jesse, April, Bruce, Jake, Michael, Stephan, Stephanie, Shaun, D.J., Taylor, and Jenna; four great-grandchildren: Noah, Gracen, Emily, and Adrian; two sisters, Lois (Richard) Lone of Rockford, IL, and Marlene Stroud of Crocker, MO; two brothers, Dale (Jean) Bergeron of Limestone, TN, and Kenny (Sharon) Bergeron of Caledonia, IL; a mother-in-law, Becky Gray; a sister-in-law, Roseanne (Jim) Imburgia; and several nieces and nephews and special friends: Judy Haberman, Gary and Janelle Kiely. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Karen Mathi-son; and two brothers, Vernon and Harry Bergeron. Funeral service at Buck-Wheeler-Hyland Funeral Home, Belvidere, IL, with the Rev. Ed Greenfield, Chaplain of O.S.F. Hospice officiating. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the staff of O.S.F. St. Anthony Hospital 4W and O.S.F. Hospice for all of their compassion and support.
