She was my great, great grandmother on Mom's side.

Both of her parents were born in England. Sadly, both parents died in 1849 in the cholera epidemic, while the family was living in Ohio. They left behind 7 young children, who were taken in by neighbors. I have not yet found any information on who raised Ann. She was 12 and the oldest when they died.

Marriage of Francis Doughty and Ann Holloway
was on 28 August 1854, Dearborn County, Indiana, USA

License for marriage was issued 20 July 1854 in Lawrenceburgh, Dearborn County, Indiana.

There are 3 more children born to Ann and Francis, besides the 3 I have listed here. All were deceased by 1900. One unknown child, plus John and Alice. John was born about 1857, and died in 1897. Alice was born about 1861, and lived about 10 years or less. I have no information on the 3rd child.

After the Doughty family moved to Nebraska, I can find very little information on them, except that they were farmers in Dawson County Nebraska. After they retired, they lived in Lexington Nebraska at 705 W 9th St.

Ann's daughter Laura, my great grandmother, stayed behind in Illinois. She was married, and stayed here in Illinois the rest of her life. Both of her parents, and all of her siblings were deceased by the time great grandma Laura died in 1944.

The four generation family picture to the right was taken in 1918, right before Ann died. Taken at the home place in Saunemin Township, Livingston County Illinois.

Rest well grandmother.
