He was survived by sons: Miguel of Albuquerque; Phil of Monterrey, California; and Avenicio of Santa Cruz; daughters: Ramona Pacheco of Superior, Arizona; Lydia Mares of Santa Fe; Carmen Sánchez of Alcalde; and Erlinda García of Las Vegas, Nevada; 36 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

In 1920, Lower Santa Cruz; Bonifasio Maestas was enumerated in the household of his widowed grandmother Carmelita Barela (B: ~1860) with his widowed father Manuel Maestas (B: ~1879) and widowed uncle Luciano Maestas (B: ~1882) (1920 Census).

In 1930, Santa [Cruz]; Bonnie Maestas and his wife Rebecca were enumerated with sons: Miguel and Filadefio Maestas; and his father Manuel Maestas (B: ~1868) (1930 Census).
