Ann Berrill was born in Yardley, Northampton into a family that included two sisters, Mary and Sarah. Ann developed the skill of "dressmaker", as did her sisters after her.

Ann married Charles Benge on 13 Jan 1872 at Sheerness, Kent, England, and they were the parents of:

After Charles died, Ann married William Sharp in September of 1890. They were found in the 1891 Census in Gillingham, with her mother Elizabeth Berrill, aged 73, and her youngest son Alfred Benge.
