Mrs. Rosa Goedeke, 89, of Houston, was born in early-day Abilene, died at 4:25 p.m. Wednesday at Methodist Memorial Hospital in Houston.
Funeral is pending at North's Funeral Home.
She was born Jan. 16, 1883, in Abilene, one of 10 children of the late Mr. and Mrs. Wilhelm Fredeck, early Abilene settlers.
She married Theo Goedeke April 12, 1903, in Abilene. They moved into a house at 125 Elm, where she lived until she moved to Houston in 1965 to be near her son and daughter. Mr. Goedeke died in 1913.
She confirmed in the Lutheran Church April 25, 1894, in Abilene. For many years she attended the First Methodist Church at S. 2nd and Butternut. She had been a member of the Royal Neighbors of America for 61 years.
Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Pearl Hight of Houston; a son, Ted M. Goedeke of Houston and one sister, Mrs. Minnie Kingston of Phoenix, Ariz.
The family will be at the Starlite Motel.
