Funeral services for Elijah Thomas Braswell, 76, who died at one o'clock Wednesday afternoon at his residence near Cecil, were hald at 1 o'clock this afternoon in Birdsville Baptist church.

Rev. Reid Barnes, of Princeton conducted the services. Burial was in the Birdsville cemetery.

Mr. Braswell was a member of the Chestnut Hill Methodist church. His death was due to an illness.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Minnie Braswell, nine sons, T.D. Braswell, St. Louis, Ernest Braswell, Paducah, W.R. Braswell, slidell, LA, R.L. Braswell, Paducah, C.L. Braswell, St. Louis, Harry Braswell, Paducah, Millard Braswell, Oak Station, Walter Braswell, Paducah, and Ruel Braswell, also of Paducah.

Two daughters, Mrs. Joe Green and Mrs. C. A Payne, Paducah, a sister, Mrs. Lennie Wooster, Birdsville and a brother, D.L. Braswell of Birdsville.

Elijah was previously married to Julia Chrischany Lay. They had 9 children together. After her death he married Minnie Josephine Thompson. They had 5 sons together.
