Tammy Jane Keith was born January 28, 1963, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Jacquilan (Dolezal) and Greg Keith. She attended Clear Creek Schools graduating with the class of 1981. She went to receive her associate's degree from Kirkwood Community College. While in high school she participated in speech, drama and debate, in fact she is listed in the Who's Who of High School Students for her achievements in high school. Tammy was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, here she was involved the Altar & Rosary Society, teaching catechism and singing in the choir and the cantata for many years. She enjoyed life even in her illness, the love of her family and friends was foremost, but she also loved her animals, dancing, being along the river, and screaming her lungs out at the hundreds of ballgames that she attended when her girls or the children of her family members were playing, you always knew Tammy was in the bleachers!

Nearly once month ago, on June 29, 2009, she and her soul mate, Scott Smith were spiritually married on their front porch of their home in Marengo.

Her family includes Scott; her five daughters; Sarah Harney and her fiancé, Rob Thul of Kansas City, MO, Catherine Harney and Mark Peterson of Oxford, Valerie Harney and Shawn Augustine of Tiffin, Elizabeth and Hannah Siewert both at home; grandchildren, Anthony and Noah Peterson and Andrew Augustine; parents; Jackie and Leo Becicka of Oxford, and Greg and Sharon Keith of Brighton; siblings, Angie (Tom) Shalla of Iowa City, Victoria (Steve) Van Voorst of Oxford, Mary Ann Storck (Jeremy Snakenberg) of Marengo, Mike Keith of Bettendorf, Barb (Stewart) Reynolds of Oxford, and Michelle Keith of Cedar Rapids.

Tammy was preceded in death by her grandparents and a special aunt, Irene Sedlacek.
