Memphis - Helen L. Nobles Crawford who was retired from Marion County School Board, died 8/17/14 at Methodist Hospice Residence in Memphis, TN.
A native of Ocala, Mrs. Crawford had a 20 year career as a teacher in Pensacola, FL, Atlanta, GA, Memphis, TN, and Ocala, FL where she spent 10 years teaching at Oakcrest and Evergreen Elementary Schools before retiring in 1991.
She was a Member Emeritus of the Ocala Regional Medical Center Auxiliary, serving there for 23 years. Her greatest joy came from caring for her family,. After spending many years as caretaker for her mother in Ocala, she moved in 2001 to live with her daughter, son-in-law and three grandsons and was a loving mother and grandmother until her death.
She is survived by her son Paul Nobles of Pensacola, FL; daughter Trenet Mullins of Eads, TN; as well as her grandchildren, Connie Easley, Nathan, Matt and Caelan Mullins.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Virginia Bell, brother John Bell and husband Earl.
Visitation will be held at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 910 E. Silver Springs Blvd. Friday, August 22 from 9 AM to 10 AM with a graveside service 11 AM at Highland Memorial Park. Donations may be made in her memory to Methodist Hospice Residence, 6416 Quince Road, Memphis, TN 38119.
