HANNAH BEARD DIES SUNDAY
Funeral Services This Afternoon at Hopewell Church; Burial Will Be There
Mrs. Indiana Hannah Beard, 77, widow of John W. Beard, and a native of Owen township, died Sunday afternoon at 1 o'clock at her residence, 1205 Washington avenue. She had been in failing health for some time but only serious for the two days preceding her demise.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 o'clock this afternoon at the Hopewell church, eight miles northeast of the city, with Rev. B. R. Collins officiating. Interment in Hopewell cemetery.
Indiana Hannah Beard was the daughter of Purnal and Eliza Merrick Thomas and was born in Owen township, this county, January 22, 1856. She was united in marriage with John W. Beard on September 16, 1874. He preceded her in death several years ago. While but a girl she united with Hopewell Methodist Protestant church and throughout her long and useful life was a devoted member to the church.
She is survived by two sisters, Helen Anneta Catron of near Middlefork and Mrs. Laura M. Thompson of Frankfort; two half-brothers, Purnal A. Thomas, northeast of Frankfort and Hugh R. Thomas of Dayton, O. Three brothers, Levi L. Beard of Moran and John and William Beard both of Frankfort, preceded her in death.
