Mr. Gerald Austin Price, age 75, of Gautier passed away at his home Friday, January 25, 2008 surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer.
Gerry was born March 21, 1932 in Bogalusa, LA. The family moved to Pascagoula in 1941. He is a 1949 graduate of Pascagoula High School. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He also worked at Ingalls Shipbuilding for 21 years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Pascagoula, Elks Lodge #1120 and American Legion and Mason Lodge #419.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Eula Lee Price and his mother, Doris (Manning) Price.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Ruth Aguilar Price of Gautier, MS.; his father, Harry Price of Pascagoula, MS; brother, Donald (Wilma) Price of Pascagoula, MS; his step-children, Henry (Becki) Aguilar, Anna (Terry) Reynolds and James Aguilar all of Gautier and Saray ('Len' # 30522273) Rushing of Pascagoula, MS,; seven step-grandchildren; four step- great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and special friends.
Visitation will be Monday, January 28, 2008 from 9-11 am at O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Pascagoula. Funeral service will follow in the chapel at 11:00 am with Rev. Robert Kates and Rev. James Twiner. Interment will be at Machpelah Cemetery with military honors. Grandsons, Jay, Jonathan, and Christian Aguilar, Jason Bardwell, David Long, and Kenny Hopel, will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the First United Methodist Church of Pascagoula Building Fund. The family would like to thank the Cancer Center in Pascagoula and Hospice of Light for your loving care and kindness during his illness.
