HUGHETT, DILLARD – age 91, of Robbins, passed away Sunday morning, May 9, 1999, at his home. He was a member of the Elgin Church of Christ and was a coal operator and miner, and a Scott County School Bus Driver. He was born in Scott County on August 23rd, 1907, and is the son of JERRY and ELIZABETH NEWPORT HUGHETT. He is predeceased in death by his parents and stepmother, EARLENE HUGHETT; one daughter, CLARISE; and two sons, PAUL NORMAN and CURTIS; six brothers, WILLARD, CHARLIE, HOWARD, HAROLD, M.J. and JASPER HUGHETT; three sisters, ERNIE and DORA HUGHETT and MARY KING. He is survived by his wife of 69 ½ years, CHARLEEN LEWALLEN HUGHETT, whom he married on Sept. 15th, 1929; three sons, ARTHUR, BOBBY and wife, DORTHY of Robbins, JERRY and PHILLIS of Amherst, Ohio; three daughters, CLARENE LOSEY and husband, NORMAN of Oneida, ELIZABETH FREELS and husband, CONLEY of Sunbright, and LINDA WARNER and husband, MIKE of Grayson, Ga.; 21 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; brothers, CARLIE and wife, ARTIE HUGHETT of Robbins, Elmer and wife, SHARON of Huntsville, ROSCOE and wife, JOANN of Helenwood, WOODROW and wife, CHARLEEN of Huntsville; sisters, NAOMI SEXTON and husband, TOMMY of Helenwood and JEWEL BYRD and husband, LESTER of Huntsville; several nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Elgin Church of Christ with Minister JIM DAY officiating. The church congregation will sing. Burial will be in the Lewallen Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6-9 p.m. at West-Murley Funeral Home. West-Murley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for Mr. DILLARD HUGHETT.
