OBITUARY ----

MRS. HARRIET F. ALLEN
Mrs. Harriet Frances Allen, 89, of 258 Brunson avenue, died at 10:35 p.m. Sunday at Mercy Hospital, only a few minutes after her admittance there. She suffered a cerebral hemorrhage at her home. Benton Harbor firemen were called to her home with an inhalator and administered oxygen to the stricken woman for 30 minutes before she was removed to the hospital.
Mrs. Allen was born at Scugog Island, Canada, on Oct. 31, 1862, and lived there during her girlhood. On Sept. 7, 1881, she was married to Arthur J. Sealy in Kansas, and they came to Benton Harbor to live, after spending a short time in Ohio. A brick mason, Mr. Sealy was employed by well-known contractors here. He died May 26, 1894.
She later was married to Byron Allen, who also preceded her in death. She is survived by three children, Mrs. B. J. Kniebes and O.E. Sealy, of Benton Harbor, and Mrs. Charles Muske, of Sister Lakes. She also leaves a sister, Mrs. D.N. Brown, of Seattle, Wash., eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Florin funeral home. the Rev. Raymond F. Roe, pastor of the First Evangelical United Brethren church, will officiate, and burial will be Hagar No. 4 cemetery.
Mrs. Allen, who had lived here 65 years, had been a member of the Methodist Peace Temple all that time, attending church regularly until her health failed, forcing her to be less active.
Friends may call at the Florin funeral home.
