Hilton: June 22, 2009 at age 72. George is survived by wife Patty Conaty; 5 daughters, Berit, Jane, Katie, & Sally Conaty and Erin Griffin; sister, Susan (Ralph) Morissey; 8 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Service date and time will be announced at the convenience of the family. Care entrusted to Walker Brothers Co. Funeral Home Inc. 15 West Avenue, Spencerport, NY.

CONATY JR., GEORGE W., ESQ. - of Rochester, NY, Survived by wife Patty Conaty, five daughters; Berit, Jane, Sally, Kate, Erin and eight grandchildren.

Survived locally by sister Susan and husband Ralph Morrisey, five nephews William, Dennis, Michael, Timothy and Sean Morrisey as well as grand nieces and nephews.

George was a prominent Rochester defense attorney. He attended Colgate University and Cornell University Law School. He received numerous awards from both the New York and local Bar Associations. Most recently, the Rochester mayor presented George with a plaque honoring his years of legal contributions and proclaimed June 16th "George W. Conaty Jr. Day."

George was an avid sailor on his beloved yacht, The Blue Bird. As a result of his illness, his missed this years Vikings Revenge which he founded in 1973. The annual band of sailors from Rochester, Boston and Florida "raced" from Rochester along Lake Ontario, through Canada each summer. The trek ultimately grew to over 30 boats and the sailors will faithfully carry on his pioneering legacy.

George will be sadly missed by his family and friends. A memorial service will be held in Rochester, NY.
