A graveside service was planned at 11 AM today at Rose Lawn Memory Garden for Alma Marian McWherter of Paris. Gary Collier was to officiate.
Chosen as pallbearers were Red Stigall, Jim Stromecky, Jon Herbison, Billy Pullen, Ronnie Nelson and George Carlton Pullen.
Visitation was today at Ridgeway Funeral Home.
Mrs. McWherter, 80, died Tuesday, July 19, 2005, at Manor House in Dover.
Born in Cottage Grove on Aug 28, 1924, she was a daughter of the late John Barton Pullen and Irene Speight Pullen. She was a stepdaughter of Mary Vickery Pullen, also deceased.
She was married on March 10, 1947, to Thomas Ray McWherter, who died June 26, 2004.
Mrs. McWherter formerly worked for Montgomery Ward in Michigan.
She leaves a daughter: Phyllis (Ronnie) Nelson of Clarksville; two sisters: Carol Stigall of Paris and Anne Stromecky of Huntsville, Ala.;
Two brothers: George Carlton Pullen of Paris and Billy Pullen of Cottage Grove; and a grandchild: Kyle Nelson of Clarksville.
She also was preceded in death by a sister: Corinne Bowden; and a brother: John Barton Pullen Jr.
