A memorial service for Doris L. "Dode" Wright, 92, a resident of St. Joseph's Nursing Home and formerly of Washington Street, will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday in Foxwood Memorial Park with the Rev. F. James Shurtleff officiating.
Mrs. Wright died Friday evening at the nursing home.
A calling hour will be from 3 to 4 p.m. Wednesday at the memorial park. Arrangements are with Fox-McLellan Funeral Home.
She worked as a secretary for Dr. Joseph Brady for a short period and then became a homemaker.
She was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral parish and enjoyed playing bridge, bowling on a pairs league, golfing and circle word puzzles.
Born Jan. 27, 1916, in Norwood, daughter of Dennis and Electra Brink Regan, Mrs. Wright graduated from St. Mary's Academy.
She married Walter A. Wright on Oct. 14, 1939, at St. Mary's rectory in Ogdensburg with the Rev. Herbert Hannan officiating. Mr. Wright died Nov. 3, 2004.
Surviving are a son, two daughters and their husbands, 10 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Three sisters, Mary Lapine, Helen Fitzgibbon and Margaret Gwin, three brothers, Edward, Dennis and Carl Regan, a grandson and a niece died before her.
