Charles Symons "Chick" Anderson was comfortable with life in Salt Lake City because he was born here - then the army drafted him and sent him to Ft. Bliss Texas. He met and married an El Paso girl, Eunice Elaine "Nanie" Whipple on November 14, 1944 in the Mesa Arizona Temple.

Maud Symons and Nephi Anderson welcomed Charles, their fifth child on October 13, 1918.

Charles was happy that he was able to help his mother keep one of his father's books, "Added Upon" in print. Some of his fondest memories were of times camping with his life-long friends in the High Uintas.

He graduated from West High in Salt Lake City. He began an LDS mission in Norway that was completed in Arkansas because of World War II. Their association with his Norwegian missionary companions and their wives was very special to Charles and Eunice.

The greatest love of his life has been his family, Eunice and their wonderful children: Janile (Gordon), Ronald, Betty Louise (Bart), Lamont (Carolee), Brian (Rebekah) and Spencer. 20 precious grandchildren and their spouses, and his little "cheerer uppers" 22 great-grandchildren.

Charles was grateful for his many callings for service in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His siblings are Dean, Ruth, Grant, Harold, and Mary.

He passed away on June 13, 2009.

Funeral Services will be held at noon on Tuesday, June 16, 2009 in the Wasatch Ward building, 1750 South 1500 East, Salt Lake City. A visitation will be held on Monday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Drive (1495 East), and one hour before the services in the Wasatch Ward Building.
Interment at Wasatch Lawn.
