Suggested edit: I do not believe the William Hawks listed as the spouse of this Susan H. Westbrook Hawks is correct. The linked William Hawks married a Susan Westbrook in Person, North Carolina on 31 Jan 1833 (marriage bond, https://www.ancestry.com/imageviewer/collections/60548/images/42091_342555-00429?pId=6454589). William Hawks also appears in Person, North Carolina on the 1840 census with data consistent with the known children and marriage to Susan Westbrook. However, sometime between 1840 and 1850, William R. Hawks and family moved to Weakley, Tennessee based on an 1847 land warrant (https://www.ancestry.com/imageviewer/collections/2882/images/33118_290760-00193?usePUB=true&_phsrc=IkD1950&_phstart=successSource&usePUBJs=true&pId=172215) and the 1850 census (https://www.ancestry.com/imageviewer/collections/8054/images/4206056_00365?pId=1374084). They also appear in Weakley, Tennessee on the 1860 census (https://www.ancestry.com/imageviewer/collections/7667/images/4297420_00067?usePUB=true&_phsrc=IkD1951&_phstart=successSource&usePUBJs=true&pId=19574782), but in 1870, William Hawks is widowed and living with two of his daughters (https://www.ancestry.com/imageviewer/collections/7163/images/4275540_00113?usePUB=true&_phsrc=IkD1972&_phstart=successSource&usePUBJs=true&pId=14400973). Thus, these data would suggest William Hawks' spouse, Susan Westbrook, passed sometime between 1860 and 1870 in Weakley, Tennessee. Although I have not been able to find a burial site for either Susan Westbrook or William Hawks, the date of death for the Susan Westbook in this listing appears incorrect and it is highly unlikely that the spouse of William Hawks in Weakley, Tennessee would have been transported back to Almance County, North Carolina for burial, particularly given that his spouse was from Person County, North Carolina. Also, the John D. Hawks listed as a child was born to William Hawks and Susan Westbrook in Person, North Carolina, but then moved to Weakley, Tennessee where he lived the rest of his life. The other two children do not appear linked to the William Hawks and Susan Westbrook of Person, North Carolina and Weakley, Tennessee.
