OBITUARY FROM THE GOTEBO RECORD-TIMES: Funeral services for Oliver F. Barr were held Friday September 8, 1978 at 10:00 a.m. in the First Baptist Church at Gotebo with Rev. O.A. Grantz, pastor, officiating.
He was born to John and Hallie Barr, November 22, 1901 west of Thomas, Oklahoma and died September 5, 1978 at Hobart. He attended school at Liberty School near Thomas, Oklahoma. On November 22, 1921 he was united in marriage to Lillie B. Renfrow. Oliver barbered for 5 years and worked at Tinker Air Force Base several years. In 1964 he retired and he and his wife moved to Gotebo to make their home. He was a member of the Gotebo First Baptist Church.
His wife preceded him in death in 1976 and a brother Orval.
Among survivors are a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mrs. and Mrs. Wiley McMahan of Gotebo; and many cousin, nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Franklin Mason, Clarence Shaw, Victor Woods, Grady Cockreham, John Brewer, and Royce Eskew.
