Herman Timm was born in Sibley county, Minn., April 8, 1876. He was the son of Michael and Ernestine Timm. In 1881 the family moved to Douglas county, Miltona township, where he made his home for 75 years. He was confirmed in the North Effington Lutheran church in the Lutheran faith. On July 8th, 1897, he entered the state of holy matrimony with Miss Emma Zunker of Alexandria. To this union 9 children were born, two of the children died in infancy. His wife passed away on March 23, 1955. Surviving are his 7 children: Laura (Mrs. Joe Bothun), Nelson; Albert, Miltona; Viola (Mrs. Walter Leatherman); Bruce, Wis.; Emil, St. Paul; Agnes (Mrs. Robert Henning), Miltona; Clara (Mrs. Paul Lemke), Alexandria, Fred, Littleton, Colo.
Mr. Timm passed away at the home of his son, Albert, on May 13. He reached the age of 80 years, one month and five days. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Kenneth Henning, Maynard Timm, Richard Timm, Donald Leathermann, Ralph Lemke and Harlan Lemke.
