Anderson, Martha Oxelson - (Lt. 3, Blk. 39, Sec. 3) Mrs. Martha Anderson passed away Saturday, March 17, 1928, at the home of her son, R.C. Oxelson, with whom she has made her home. Funeral service were held at the house Tuesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Willoughby, and interment in the Lakin Cemetery. She was born November 30, 1846. Her father was Hezakiah Crutchfield. Her first husband was Chas. W. Oxelson, and the second Martin V. Anderson.

Martha Crutchfield was born in Tippecanoe county, Indiana, November 30, 1846, and died at Lakin, Kansas March 17, 1928, age 81 years, three months and 17 days. At the age of 6 years, she moved with her parents from Indiana, to Monroe county, Iowa, and in 1856 her parents came with a colony from Iowa and settled in Nemaha county, Kansas, near America City, at which place she grew to womanhood. She was married in 1868 to Chas. W. Oxelson and to this union were born 4 children; Nellie May, Roland Carl, John Edward and Archie Hughes. Two of the children, Nellie May and Archie Hughes, preceding her in death. Her husband, Chas. W. Oxelson, died in 1892. In 1908 she was married to Martin V. Anderson, of Admire, Kansas. Mr. Anderson died in 1918. Since the death of Mr. Anderson, Grandma Anderson has made her home with her son, Roland Carl Oxelson, of Lakin, Kansas.
