Emma Lorean Evins, departed this life unexpectedly on May 8, 2009, following a brief illness at the age of 98.

Born January 4, 1911, in Festus, Mo., to William and Emily Caroline (Schmelzle) Palmer.

Moving to Pueblo in 1949, Emma became an inspector at Triplex Corp. for several years. She then worked for Colorado State Hospital Dietary Department, retiring in 1976. She was a loving and devoted mother. Her presence will be sadly missed by all, but she will remain in our hearts forever.

Preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Frederick Horn and Frank Evins; daughter, Florence Marie Horn; sister, Anna Hendrix and brother, William "Bill" Palmer.

Survived by her daughters, Marian "Anne" (Herschel Reeves) Allen and Angela Arguello of Pueblo; grandchildren, Cheryl (Joe Vigil) Salazar of Pueblo, Barbara Blea of Denver, Kenneth Arguello and Richard (Linda) Arguello of Colorado Springs; great-grandchildren, Andrea (Justin Hettich) Torello of Pueblo, Cortney Warren, Donovan Warren and Katy Jo Newsom all of Denver; great-great grandsons, Damion and Noah Hettich of Pueblo. Also survived by her sister, Rose E. Brown of Festus, Mo.; niece, Donna (Samuel) Mischanko of Festus; great-niece, Shari Graff; and great-nephew, Scott (Crystal) Graff both of Herculaneum, Mo.

There was no viewing. Cremation, Montgomery & Steward Crematorium.

Memorial service, Wednesday, May 13, 2009, in the Montgomery & Steward Chapel with the Reverend Father William Gleeson officiating.

Inurnment followed at Mountain View Cemetery Columbarium.
