Nora Springs Mr. and Mrs. Ben Deets received a telegram from the war department stating their son, Virgil Duane Deets, 26, of the navy, has lost his life in action in the Pacific.
Pharmacists' Mate Deets entered the service in February, 1942, after having received his education in the schools of Falls township.
Two other brothers are in the service, both in the navy, Ward W. Deets and Darrell Deets.
The survivors include his father and stepmother, 6 brothers, and sisters.
