Dr. Benjamin and Eliza Bohrer were the parents of six children, four of whom are not listed below: United States Navy Captain Julius Shepard Bohrer Sr. (1823-1892); Alexander Loughborough Bohrer (born 1825); Maria Fitzhugh Bohrer (1830-1868), who became Sister Mary Aimee of the Convent of the Visitation in Georgetown, District of Columbia in February 1854 and Cloriviere Bohrer (died 1864), who was most likely named after The Reverend Picot de Cloriviere, the Spiritual Director of the Convent of the Visitation. Cloriviere Bohrer entered the United States Military Academy as a cadet in 1846 from the District of Columbia.
On June 9, 1834 Dr. Bohrer married Mrs. Maria Tayloe in Georgetown, District of Columbia.
