Azalia G. Avila, 81, of Watseka, died at 11:35 a.m. Thursday, May 7, 2009, at Iroquois Memorial Hospital in Watseka.
She was born Dec. 8, 1927, in Cheneyville, the daughter of Vernon and Winnie Walker Carter.
She married Israel H. Avila July 31, 1954, in Milford. He died Oct. 21, 1997.
She was a member of Jehovah's Witness since 1959.
She is survived by two sons, Marc (Melissa) Avila of Star City, Ind., Judah-Ben (Angela) Avila of Monticello, Ind.; one daughter, Rebecca (David) Durflinger of Watseka; one brother, Dale (Hazel) Carter of Milford; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Merle Carter; one sister, Ruth Carter; one grandchild and three great-grandchildren.
Private funeral services will be conducted.
Burial will be in Sugar Creek Cemetery in Stockland.
