Mrs. Melissa Mae Foster, 52, passed away Friday afternoon in a local nursing home.

Born 12/15/1922, in Estella, she had been a Vinita area resident all her life. Mrs. Foster was a member of the Dupree Baptist Church.

Surviving are 2 sons, Bob Christian & Jim Christian; 3 sisters, Mrs. Dora Forshey, Parsons KS, Mrs. Marie Thompson, Vinita, OK & Mrs. Julia James, Nowata, OK; 3 brothers, Woodrow Doan, Coffeyville, KS, James Doan, Pocatello, Idaho & Walter Doan, Chetopa, KS; & 2 grandchildren.

Services were scheduled for 1 p.m. today in the Luginbuel Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Ray C. Newman officiating. Interment was in the Centralia Cemetery under the direction of Luginbuel Funeral Service of Vinita.
