Birth date on the headstone is wrong: He was born July 30, 1894.
Ralph served in the U.S. Army in World War I and fell victim to the influenza pandemic, which killed more people than did hostile action. He came down with the flu aboard his troop ship, which was docked in Liverpool, England and died in hospital ashore, presumably in Liverpool. He left behind his widow and two young children. He was buried immediately in England, but his body was later moved to the Ogden City Cemetery.
