FUNERAL SERVICES FOR MRS. LEVASSEUR
Mrs. Louisa Levasseur died Saturday, April 1, 1967 in Sioux Falls at the age of 82 years and 3 days. Funeral services were held April 5 at the Colton Methodist Church with Rev. Jesse Hood Officiating. Special music was provided by Mrs. Florence Johnson with Mrs. Almeda Peterson at the organ. Casket bearers were Ralph Edwards, Jake DeLong, Gerrit Jacobsma, Donald P. Nelson, Evan D. Paulson and Henry Vink.
Mrs. Schlieman was born March 28, 1885 at Grand Junction, Iowa. She married Julius Levasseur at Marion, Iowa, on March 24, 1909. In 1910 they moved onto a farm north of Hartford, where Julius passed away in 1952. She continued to live on the farm until her death. She was a survivor of the great tornado at Pomeroy, Iowa, when she was just 8 years old.
Surviving are daughters Mrs. Florene Boelsen of Sioux Falls and Mrs. M.J. (Leoma) Even of San Francisco, California; sons Martin of Sioux Falls and LeRoy of Hartford; three grandchildren; a great-grandson; sister Mrs. Martha Johnson of Hartford; brothers Carl, John and Fred Schlieman all of Hartford. Buried at Colton Cemetery
