Prolific actor and musician of armenian descent, who appeared in international film and television productions. Born Krikor Kaloust Aslanian in the former Constantinople, he was raised in Switzerland. He made his professional début at 18 as a vocalist, trumpeter and drummer in the orchestra of Ray Ventura. He began his acting career as "Coco Aslan." As a balding character actor, he was excelled in portraying exotic ethnic types with a particular penchant for comic police chiefs or ruthless villains in many British and American productions. He appeared in at least 110 films. His credits include "Feux de joie" (1939), "Cairo Road" (1950), "Celui qui doit mourir" (1957), "The Snorkel" (1958), "Our Man in Havana" (1959), "King of Kings" (1960), "The Devil at 4 O'clock" (1961), "The Yellow Rolls-Royce" (1964), "Our Man in Marrakesh" (1966), "The Golden Voyage of Sinbad" (1974) and "The Return of the Pink Panther" (1975) . His last film role was a priest in the 1979 British film, "Meetings with Remarkable Men." He had many theater roles in France during the 1950s and 1970s. Married and divorced twice, he died of a heart attack while on vacation in England.
