Mrs. Mattie Elizabeth Pike Edwards, 86, Route 3, Mt. Olivet died early Friday morning at her home. Born Oct. 31, 1894 in Patrick County, she was the daughter of the late Issac L. Pike and Martha Hix Pike. She was a member of the Pentecostal Church of God Skyline Circle, Pulaski. Surviving are her husband, Andrew Payton Edwards; two daughters, Mrs. George B. (Martha) Cox and Mrs. Eugene C. (Dorothy) South, both of Pulaski; two sons, Andrew H. Edwards and Ernest J. Edwards, both of Pulaski, and 16 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and one brother. Turner L. Pike, High Point, NC. The funeral will be today at 2 p.m. from the Pentecostal Church of God, Skyline Circle, Pulaski, with the Rev. & Mrs. Melvin L. West and the Rev. Dale Akers, officiating. Interment will follow in the Hufford Cemetery, Mt. Olivet Road. The body was taken to her home Friday evening from the Bower Funeral Home Pulaski where friends and relatives may call anytime until Noon today. The body will be moved to the church at noon to lie instate until the service. Bower Funeral Home, Pulaski is in charge of arrangements.
