PULASKI —John Leonard Byrd, 50, of 1550 Case Knife Road, Pulaski, died early Sunday morning, Aug. 17, 1997, at his home. Born in Pulaski on Nov. 10, 1946, he was the son of the late Frank & Flora Manuel Byrd. He was also preceded in death by one son, Christopher Byrd, and two brothers, Glenn Byrd and Darnell Byrd. Surviving are two daughters, Venus Robinson and April Earhart, both of Pulaski; one son, Johnny Byrd, Draper; one sister, Marie Donaldson, Pulaski; eight brothers, Gene Byrd, Virginia Beach, Garnett Byrd, Burkeville, Avery Byrd, Pulaski, Leroy Byrd, Griffin, GA, Arnold Byrd, Pulaski, Bobby Byrd, Dublin, Ronald Byrd, Galax, and Donald Byrd, Staunton, and five grandchildren. A graveside service will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. from the Hufford Cemetery, Pulaski County, with the Rev. Lawrence Mooney officiating. Visiting will be today at Stevens Funeral Home, Pulaski, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Arrangements by Stevens Funeral Home, Inc., Pulaski.
