He went to Lehigh University where he earned his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering in 1951. He taught there for 9 years and co-authored the college text book, "Principals of Unit Operations" (Wiley & Sons) which is published in English, Italian, Portugese, and Spanish.
He worked for Rockwell International, where he pioneered Stealth technology and developed ultra-high-temperature-resistant composite materials used in the Apollo and Space Shuttle programs. He also instructed short courses in advanced composites at several U.S. and European universities.
He was a loving husband, wonderful father and step-father.
My Uncle Louie was a sweet darling man that I miss very much. I remember him watching Roller Derby and Lawrence Welk. He loved Dixieland music, esp. the banjo and going fishing.
