Funeral services for Blanche E. Bader, age 80, formerly of Belle Fourche and Timber Lake will be at 10:00AM Thursday at the Methodist Church in Belle Fourche with Blanche's nephew Pastor Jack Garr and Pastor Gail Arnold officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Slope Cemetery at Belle Fourche. There will be a prayer service at 7:00PM Wednesday at Fidler-Isburg Funeral Chapel in Spearfish. Blanche died Saturday morning, July 17th, 2010 at St. Mary's Hospital in Pierre. She was born March 6th, 1930, in Isabel, SD, the daughter of Harvey and Olive (Schemp) Garr. Blanche attended schools in the Isabel area and married Herb Bader on June 20th, 1947 in Timber Lake. They moved to a farm and ranch three miles northeast of Timber Lake where they lived for several years. Blanche and Herb were the parents of three children, Linda, Butch and Suzy. Herb managed the family-owned sale barn and Blanche helped wherever needed, especially in running the office on sale day. Blanche was also very active in the Methodist Church and in her childrens' many activities, including school, sports, 4-H, horse shows and rodeos. Blanche and Herb moved to Belle Fourche in the early 1970's where Herb continued his cattle order buying business. Blanche worked for Charlie Schoenist's drug store and later retired after working as the bookkeeper at Steen's Feeds. Following Herb's death Blanche moved to Spearfish where she lived for ten years before entering the Mary House Nursing Home in Pierre two years ago. Besides her husband Blanche was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Linda and a brother, Paul "Punky" Garr. Survivors include: her daughter Suzy (Dennis) Betsinger P.O. Box 1255, Pierre, SD 57501; her son Butch (Lynn) Bader 1914 E. 21st, St. Casper, WY 82601; grandchildren include: Linda's children Debbie (Dan) James and Johnny (Misty) Blalack all of Box Elder, SD ; Casey (Loretta) Bader and Effie Bader all of Laramie, WY and Capt. Tanner (Alison) Betsinger of Spokane, WA and Turner (Lindley) Betsinger of Port Alsworth AK; 11 great-grandchildren and her sister, Connie (Norman) Boe of Arizona.
