Mr. Henry Alvin Tabb, 85, of Albany, formerly of Colquitt, died Tuesday, April 22, 2008, at his son's residence.

Mr. Tabb served four years in the US Army, joining at the age of 17. He became a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne and served in the European Theater. After WWII, he joined the US Air Force where he served for 24 years, serving in Korea and Vietnam. Mr. Tabb was a member of the Gerald Grow Post #165 American Legion and William M. Wilson VFW Post #6046. He was of the Baptist faith.

Funeral services were held Friday, April 25, at 2:00 p.m. at Sheffield Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Bruce Smith officiating. Interment followed at Tabb Cemetery with full military honors.

Active pallbearers were Mike Tabb, Jason Tabb, Chad Tabb, Anthony Tabb, Roger Tabb, and Brandon Jackson.

Survivors include his wife, Jeanette Williams Tabb of Colquitt; two sons, Russ (Angela) Tabb of Albany and Ronald (Carol) Tabb of Macon; four grandchildren, Candy Tabb, Jason Tabb, Chad Tabb, and Rhonda Tabb; seven greatgrandchildren; Roger Tabb, Anthony Tabb, Christina Tabb, Chandler Tabb, Abby Tabb, Colby Tabb, and Alexander Tabb.

He was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Grace Toliver Tabb; one brother, Pete Tabb; and two sisters, Avis Love and Mae Tabb.

Colquitt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
