Hazel Janette Parnell Henderson

Funeral services for Hazel Janette Parnell Henderson, 87, of Roscoe, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 15, 2009, at First Baptist Church on Roscoe with Rev. Caleb Teeters officiating. Burial will follow at Roscoe Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.

Henderson died Tuesday, May 12, 2009, in San Angelo.

She was born Oct. 28, 1921, in Tibbie, Ala. She married Ollie Lee Henderson Jan. 17, 1943, in Leeksville, Miss. She was a homemaker and had worked for Roscoe Nursing Home. Henderson was a member of the First Baptist Church of Roscoe and was an avid Roscoe Plowboy fan.

Survivors include three daughters, Marie Graham and Kathy Kirby and husband Eddie, all of Roscoe and Karen Codrey of El Toro, Calif.; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Eva Ard of Chatom, Ala.; and one brother, Harry Parnell of Chatom, Ala.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ollie on Dec. 26, 1991; her parents, Harry and Kate Parnell, three sisters, Zula Harris, Margie Parnell and Kate Parnell; and two brothers, Ruben Parnell and Norman Parnell.

Pallbearers will be Kenneth Reed, Steve Anthony, Frank Young, Eddie McGlothlin, Chuck Cathey and Arlon Orman.

Honorary pallbearers will be Archie Hunter, Willard McFaul, Garland Haygood and the Roscoe Plowboys.
