Isaac Ploughe was a native of Indiana. His parents were Isaac Ploughe and Mary Powell Ploughe. In 1850 he went to Texas, spending 10 years and in 1860 moved to Kansas. He enlisted three different times in the Civil War and served almost the whole time that the war went on. On final discharge he rode a pony back to Indiana and later in the year went back to Kansas. He was a farmer at Perry, Kansas for nearly 30 years. He married Margaret A. Elias on May 8th, 1870 and they had seven children born to them: Harry Albert(1871-1936), Nellie(1875-1896), Daughter(1874-1875), Son(1876-1876), Mary Ethel(1878-1953), Anna(1880-1880),and Margare Elias(1881-1938)
