Sarah Meredith Hudson, daughter of the late Robert and Bell Valentine Meredith, was born in Mecklenburg County, VA on January 1, 1910. She departed this life on Tuesday, February 6, 1990 at the Memorial Hospital in Danville, VA. She attended the public schools in Mecklenburg County and at an early age she professed Christ. She was joined in Holy Matrimony to the late Oscar Hudson. "Mother Sarah" as often called by the Saints at St. Luke, enjoyed going to church as well as singing and praising God and in spite of her illness she believed that the Lord Jesus Christ was her helper. She will be greatly missed by her family, neighbors and brothers and sisters in Christ. She leaves to mourn her departure two daughters: Ida Frances Mabry of Washington, DC and Annie Wyatt of South Boston, VA; one sister: Mrs. Mary Thomas of Philadelphia, PA; one brother: John Lee Meredith of LaCrosse, VA; eleven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one son-in-law: Richard Wyatt of South Boston; three sisters-in-law: Mrs. Gertrude Meredith of LaCrosse; Mrs. Georgiana Meredith of Asbury Park, NJ and Mrs. Nora Bugg Meredith of South Hill, VA; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
