Margaret M. Beaty, 94, of Columbus, died Sunday, March 12, 2006, at Four Seasons Retirement Center in Columbus.
Mrs. Beaty was a homemaker and had been a Red Cross volunteer and Bartholomew County Hospital chaplain's office volunteer. She was a member of First Christian Church in Columbus and Delta Theta Tau Alumni.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 15, 2006, at Four Seasons Retirement Center Chapel on Taylor Road, with the Rev. Norie Erickson officiating. Calling will be from 9 a.m. to service time Wednesday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.

Mrs. Beaty was born Jan. 15, 1912, in Bartholomew County, the daughter of William and Carrie Horn Merritt. She married John C. Beaty on Feb. 4, 1934, in Columbus.
Survivors include a daughter, Sue Ann Beaty of Indianapolis; a niece, Judith Jones of Columbus; a nephew, Dr. John (Pamela) Records of Franklin; great-nieces and nephews, John M. Records and Jill (Raymond) Records Kirk, both of Houston, Trent R. (Sally) Jones of Kansas City, Kan., and Jennifer (Carlos) Jones Guia of Las Vegas; and great–great–niece and nephews, Annie Jones and Turner Jones, both of Kansas City, and Kendall Records of Houston.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on Feb. 9, 1970; and sisters, Ruth Records and Wauneta Merritt.
