Mrs. Chapman was born near Stanberry, Mo., October 21, 1872. She was married to W.E. Chapman at that place & they & their son Herbert came to Apache in 1901. They moved to Ft. Sumner, N.M. in 1905 & resided there until coming back to Apache in 1918. After the death of her husband, she had operated her farm, just north of her home, which is in the northeast part of town. Mr. Chapman died in November 1939 & Herbert died in July of 1939. She is survived by her two brothers, W. H. Metzger & E. C. Metzger, & a sister, Mrs. Cora Anderson.
