Mrs. Reynolds was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Cowing, and with them became one of the earliest settlers of this village, where she resided, except during a brief period, until 1886, when she removed to St. Cloud.
She was born in Dane county, Wisconsin, in 1855, and was therefore only 33 years old at the time of her death. In 1876 she was a teacher in the public schools of this village, and in 1877 was married to Mr. Geo. H. Reynolds. She leaves no children.
Mrs. Reynolds was an affectionate wife and a devoted daughter. She had a large circle of friends who were warmly attached to her for her many virtues, and by reason of her long residence here she was known and highly esteemed by a very large number of acquaintances.
The funeral services took place at the residence at St. Cloud on Friday forenoon, being conducted by Rev. F. B. Nash of Fargo, formerly pastor of the Episcopal church here. The remains were brought to Alexandria for burial on the afternoon train, and were met at the station by a large number of sympathizing friends. The remains were accompanied from St. Cloud by the families of Mr. and Mrs. Reynolds, including Mr. and Mrs. R. Reynolds of Crookston, Mr. Fred Reynolds of Duluth, Mr. Albert Cowing and Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Hurlbut of Crookston, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Cowing, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas F. Cowing and Mr. W. H. Cowing of Fergus Falls, Mr. and Mrs. John B. Cowing of Alexandria, brothers and sisters of the deceased, Miss Cecil Bernard, Judge Collins and Mr. G. W. Stewart of St. Cloud.
The services at the cemetery were conducted by Rev. S. M. Wilcox, pastor of the Congregational church here. The floral decorations of the grave were very appropriate and beautiful.
