Michael ("Mike") was a loving son and brother, as well as the dearest, funniest friend that anyone could wish for. He was a devoted Buddhist and was endlessly helping others. A musician, composer of therapeutic music and voiceover artist, Mike earned his living from his beautiful, melodious voice.

He died of brain injuries suffered as the result of a tumble from his bicycle outside his home; he wasn't wearing his helmet. If you or your loved ones ride, please be sure to wear your helmet, even when travelling short distances (as Mike was doing) - it is a life saver.

Mike was survived by his mother Priscilla Kent and his two sisters Marilyn and Amanda. His mum died of a stroke less than two months later, on June 25, in the same hospital room where Mike had passed away. The nurse said that Priscilla had gone to be with her son.

Give me a man with the sun in his face
And the shadows all dancing behind;
Who meets his reverses with calmness and grace
And never forgets to be kind.
