And. P. Herberg Dies Early Friday
Andrew P. Herberg, farmer residing two miles east of Almelund, passed away Friday morning at 10 a.m., from an illness of cancer of the face which he had been afflicted with for over a year. He was 78 years, 3 months and 29 days of age.
Funeral services were conducted from the Immanuel Lutheran Church at Almelund and the remains were laid to rest in the cemetery there. Rev. A. Melford, paster, officiated and pallbearers were: Robert Nelson, Charles Nygren, Gust Johnson and Axel Grandstrand, Charles Grandstrand and Walter Sandberg.
Andrew P. Herberg was born in Tegnaby, Smaland, Sweden on February 5, 1854 and came to America in the year of 1882 when he went directly to the Almelund vicinity to make his home. He commenced farming and has remained on the same place ever since His wife preceded him in death only four years ago. This union was blessed with fourteen children six of whom are now dead.
The surviving children are: Carl, Albert and Lawrence of Almelund, Elmer and Arthur Herberg of Linstrom, Miss Pearl Herberg and Mrs. Budd Hock of Los Angeles, California, and Mabel Herberg of Almelund. Two brothers Herman Ringstrom of Almelund and C. Johnson of Minneapolis also survive him. The brothers changed their names when they arrived here from Sweden. Mr. Herberg also leaves two sisters Mrs. Christian Linander and Mrs. Eva Stenberg of Almelund and six grandchildren.
